Nine Steps Forward

It was a great adventure for me around Manila last September 21. From north to south, east to west --- it's all a mad journey for me 'coz I've been inside the house living the timid life since July of this year. Greatness.

11:00 AM around Makati. Me and Romel Manahan decided to work with our tasks for today's travel. We've met at a few blocks near our house to ride a jeepney in our first destination.

Not the Real PNA ID. The Real ID is Harder and in color White.
Philippine Nurses Association. First, as a nurse you have to be a part of a majestic team rendering an utmost care with your career. We've ended up signing to Philippine Nurses Association at Benitez Street in Paco, Manila. After paying Php 400.00 at the cashier, an MMDA-colored ID as a temporary thing will be given to you but trust me, their real ID is as awesome as an IV Therapist ID coming from ANSAP. They've told us that their machine for making the real ID's broken. Hoping for a greater ID next year upon renewing it. Handed to us were their journal and as I have mentioned, the MMDA-colored ID. Not bad at all.

Philippine Regulations Commission. Most of our friends told us that it's unnecessary to avail the Certificate of Passing the Board Exam (NLE) and the Ranking as well. But we told them, "There's no harm of getting it and we're in no rush." So at the end of our journey there, they've handed to us the claim slip of the certificates and the official receipt with a payment of Php 150.00 (for the two certificates requested). Also, a photocopy of your professional license claim slip in case you're more of a carekess person. Just sayin'. LOL.

Hepa Lane at Morayta. There's nothing better than those foods to die for (literally) at Morayta. Damn, I miss those siomai with rice and a bottle of soda for a price less than 50 bucks. As Teddy and I eating there at that time, I also miss my buddies whom I've been together eating those pieces of meatballs. You know who you are (some of BSN 122s and The Gees). Handed to us were siomai, soda, and the scorching heat of the sun. Whew! We'll it's 12 noon already!

Tams Computer Shop. It's time to reprint my résumé for future purposes. It's not actually a formal nurse's résumé but I think it can be suited to that profession because all of the things written there were all about my experiences as a nursing student. Handed to me there by the awesome clerk lady were my 5 copies of my updated résumé and a great smile. Priceless.

TriNoMa Mall. It was an out-of-the-task moment for me because Teddy told me that he and his friends are so eager to have an IVT Training. Mukhang napalaban ako kaagad sa pera kasi wala akong dalang Php 3,200 at wala talaga sa isip kong mag-training pa muna. I'm thinking to land a job first (whether I'll be underemployed or what) then have my nursing trainings as soon as I have my first salary. Anyway, more of the story after this paragraph. I've met Teddy's friend Antonette or Tonyang (as what Teddy called her) and yep, she's gorgie. A DANCER as well. Handed out to me was a caramel sundae from McDonald's and my towel coming from Teddy's alahera bag to wipe those city's byproduct on mi face.

Veterans MMC. It's my first time to go to that place and seriously the environment is so green. It's like an oasis inside the metro. Although the place is kinda freaky (just like how the isolation of QI in Cubao works) it gives the patients the sort of a comfy feeling as the greenery of the scene helps them to recover. On the other hand, my buddies made a sched for IVT training for October 29, 30 and November 5 plus a two day completion with three IV insertion, three IV push, and one blood transfusion. Sounds like a challenge to me! Hehehe..

I would like also to grab this opportunity to thank Miss Antonette for lending me financially for the said training. Thank you and will treasure this lifetime. Appreciate.

Unexpectedly, before we left the building, I saw my college buddies closest to me (Czar Malabuyo and Dann Ang) leaving the premises after their IVT training. Miss you dudes! I never knew you're on training as well! Wow.

Handed to me was the receipt of the training and the very courteous and hospitable personality of the staff of VMMC's Nursing Department.

Teddy's Pad. The sun's about to set but the day doesn't end yet. From MRT North Ave. to Guadalupe station, and from Guadalupe to Brgy. Pagulayan. It's just WOW. Upon reaching Teddy's crib starving, no one's inside. So, we've decided to check the food but unfortunately, there's no rice! Pagod na at gutom pa! Hahaha! Handed to me was the nilagang baka heated from the microwave. Papak kainan ala Vee-gan.

Thank you Kim! The foods were awesome. Thank you to Tita Cyn also!
Kim's Pad. Baby Bantot. Baby Baho. The bed. The high school pictures. It all went back to 2006. We (me, Teddy, and now Chad and Dana) suddenly missed the teacher of The ICee Clan (my high school buddies) Miss Kim Umali. Inside the house is also Tita Cyn (Kim's mom) who's definitely still not ageing physically! Handed to us were a plate with siomai, a plate with kikiam, tilapia and mucho mucho rice-o!

AMBUSH! At Nikko's Crib. From Left to Right - Chad, Romel, Nikko, and Me.
Nikko's Crib! Just in the middle of a convo, we decided to go to Nikko's pad to check him out and got to update ourselves about his current life as a son and as a physical therapist in a certain pontifical university in the Philippines. Although it's almost 12 midnight in our watches, no one dared to go home without seeing him. As usual our target also there is to grab foods from their sari-sari store and yep, a few booze. We were really amazed by the new room Nikko. The last time we saw it was 2007. Great great and we're looking forward to visit you more on weekends! Salute mi familia! Handed to us were the memories of our high school days and the cozy room for sleepover. Yeah.

From Left to Right - Nikko, Me, Dana, Chad, and Kim.
Man, that's a one hell of a travel! All of the tasks for that day were achieved. A big thanks to those who were a part of that walkathon and talkathon around Manila; certainly a great experience to live for. I also thank the Man Himself, for having this opportunity to happen.

We all went back to the past but certainly it will be a great recipe for our future. We have to make a wise decision than do nothing for your aspiration.
