I think being a leader is not a position for you to do nothing. Instead, it is a kind of a role for you to help not only by yourself but also to your subordinates as well. It is merely a kind of authority, but never let this kind of position overrules you. Let this be a mark that you are great, a man of honor, a human whose able to do nothing beyond what others cannot do. Taking a responsibility and not an opportunity to bring havoc.
What I have learned from this kind of training was that as a leader, you must also be the one helping them in order to achieve your common goal. Without the right responsibility and right action of each and every member of the group (as well as the leader), the team will be in peril walking themselves up in a not so good road.
I feel that I am a type of democratic with a dash of laissez faire kind of leadership in this concept. This helped me because I have also experienced during my high school days to be a student teacher for a week. Although this shaped me to be a new man, it is way too different now in my college life. Harder things, harder rules, harder life.
I suggest that this kind of training provided by the school will continue with new branches of ideas to show what Far Eastern University student nurses got to be a leader. Well, I think this is now evident with the news from around the globe that Tamaraws really excel in all sorts of field and with that, nurses coming from the far east will also be in the headlines in the future.
Miss Anabella Javier doesn't leave us going around the bush. She let each and every one of us experience this kind of responsibility in one of the greatest hospitals in the Philippines. I would like to thank her for everything in and out of the hospital plus some itsies with regards to nursing life. She's definitely be a big part of WJL in the future.
